April Updates! Seeds cooking, and Spring is Here

What a interesting spring here in Washington so far! We had several 70 degree days in March, then not too long later it snowed...then yesterday it snowed AGAIN! What is going on.

But the plants are reacting and it seems like everyone is putting out an inflo. Except my damn pendants...

New leaves and offsets galore. Some of my fussy plants are finally putting out some nice roots and coming around. I spend as much time as I can in front of my tents just looking at the quiet progress of it all.

I am very excited to announce my next cross that is currently successfully incubating seeds, an SKG Grey Caycee selfing! This is such a unique plant that I am very curious as to what a selfing will produce. She was my first large anthurium in my collection and when I first got her, she didn't seem like much but I hoped for some potential. Each new leaf has been better than the last. She has wonderful veins and such a pretty leaf shape. Can't wait to see what her babies might do.

I also paired a couple of very special carlablackieas... my RA4 PM1 and a Prenumber that was produced from wild clones with HUGE leaves and very thick but somewhat minimal veining. Its just such a cool plant. I aquired it from a local who said the plant was produced in 2021 by Andrew Goon. Such cool lineage before carlas were categorized and numbered. She has one of the prettiest flowers I have ever seen on an anthurium. Beyond excited to have some pure carls to offer.

I have plans to F2 some cool Doc Block Michelles. I am thinking of putting some of that prenumber Carla onto my flowering Carla x Port, as well as my Forgetii. I love forgetii. I have four right now, a flowering white stipes, two dark forms, and a 'thin' forgetii. The 'thin' form is not showing thin traits from its mom but maybe in a cross I might get something cool. If the white stripes is successful with the carla I will be heavily culling for fused/round sinus. I love how forgetti x carlas with fused sinus look.

Then last but not least, I put some Dressleri from KoalasPlants onto my red vein BVEP, but her inflo has been weird so I am not sure if it took. We will see. She is right next to my carla who is now in pollen making mode so if it didnt take the Dress maybe some carla will blow onto it lol!
